Van Buren PTA

Like most schools, Van Buren Elementary maintains an active PTA as a way to provide the families of our students a voice to speak on behalf of every child. PTA helps establish tools to help children be safe, healthy, and successful — in school and in life. The mission of the Van Buren PTA is to establish and nurture a close relationship between the parents, teachers, and students by advancing opportunities in the home, school, and community of the school.

The PTA provides assistance to teachers in classroom settings, raises funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction, and provides a non-biased forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children. It is our belief that the team effort of a parent-teacher association offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

PTA Needs You

Why should you support the PTA? PTA is entrenched in Van Buren’s philosophy to encourage parental and guardian participation. It is important for your child(ren) to see you get involved with school activities; students that see their family involved in their education, are more likely to:
  • Earn higher grades and test scores, and enroll in higher-level programs
  • Pass their classes
  • Attend school regularly
  • Have better social skills, show improved behavior and adapt well to school
  • Graduate and go on to post-secondary education

The PTA always needs volunteers. We know the time commitment can be hard to manage, but there are many ways to help, from one-time events to ongoing committees. If you are interested in being a part of Van Buren's PTA please call or check the website for our next meeting by clicking here.
