I love teaching, because I get to work with wonderful kids and adults.
My favorite author is Gregory Maguire.
I love to watch movies with my family.

My favorite teacher from grade school is Mrs. Yamamoto for teaching me to be honest.
Everyone knows that my favorite subject to teach is science, because I love to watch students get excited; especially when I take them into the Starlab.
On a scale of 1 - 10, I am probably a 5 on the funny scale.
My favorite teaching moment was when I was teaching 3rd grade about Native Americans. We were going to make canoes, and I had a template cut out on my desk. One of my students picked it up and asked if we were going to make telephones (that was before cellphones).
When I was a junior at Boise High, I was allowed to take a teacher aide class. I got to go every afternoon to a kindergarden class, and be her aide. I loved every minute of it, and it inspired me to become a teacher.

My favorite thing about being a teacher is getting to know my students and their families. I like knowing the whole student and celebrating their successes in and outside of school. It is so fun to see them grow older and come back to say hi. I also enjoy creating new games and activities for my classroom.
For kids I love the Gerald and Piggy books by Mo Willems. They are simple for first graders but fun and funny with expressive emotion. As for personal reading, my favorite author is Jane Austen. I'm a girly girl and a sucker for a good historical romance.
Q5: What's your favorite holiday? Why?
Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday. It is a time where my whole family gets together to sled, bake, play, and make fun memories.
My favorite teacher was my second grade teacher Mrs. Richter. She was so much fun and would play the guitar and sing silly songs with us. She also cared about each of us and made it known on a regular basis.
I love teaching math. Math in first grade involves a lot of hands-on learning, especially through games. I love playing fun games with my students and watching them learn without even knowing it.
