Rozanne Gans, Kindergarten teacher
My favorite part of teaching Kindergarten is seeing how far these wonderful babies come in such a short time.
My favorite childern's author is Beverly Cleary.
My favorite evening activity is reading, knitting and spending time with my grandkids.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. It is purely a day for fun family and giving thanks. In Kindergarten it is the time we do some of our most thoughful writing. We tell what we are thankful for and why. The writing is all so special and unique!
Mr. Friday was my favorite teacher. He was the band teacher and was special because he believed in me. I was far from musically talented. He let me be in the marching band because I really wanted it, and I worked hard for him.
I love to teach writing. It is so exciting to see what kinder kids can accomplish.
How funny do I think I am? That's a hard question to answer. Kindergarten kids think everything is funny!
My favorite teaching moment is when I see the lights turn on in my students eyes, that moment when they "get it." There is nothing else like it in the world!
I was already working as an instructional aide when I was inspired to become a teacher. I was asked to read a story to a second grade class. It was magic, the faces of the kids as I read told me I had found my place in the world. A few years later, and lots of hard work, I was reading stories to my own class.
Gwen Hogg - Kindergarten
I really do not have a favorite. I enjoy reading about the American Civil War and the Revolutionary War time periods.
Thanksgiving and the 4th of July are my favorites. These holidays remind me how blessed I am to live in this country and to have my family and friends in my life.
Mrs. Moore was my 3rd grade teacher. I still remember her reading, "My Side of the Mountain" to us. She is one of the reasons why I became a teacher.
