I have been teaching since 2006. I have always taught first grade at Van Buren and have enjoyed each year. I love teaching kids to read and watching the light go on when something clicks. First grade is so fun because the kids learn and grow so much in one short year. I also have a dog who loves to cuddle and beg for treats. When I'm not teaching I love to read, travel, and hang out with my husband and two daughters. I also love camping, swimming, and pretty much anything in the water!

I started teaching in 2002, took a couple of years off to have babies, and then started at Van Buren in 2006. My sweet husband and I married in 1998 and have 3 children who have grown into hardworking, fun adults. We also have 2 dogs who are our hearts' delight! I have a passion for reading, crafting, going for (easy) hikes, going to concerts, and being with my family. I enjoy traveling, but I relish being at home. Though I have only taught first grade, no two years have ever been the same. Each year has its own challenges and successes.
