Heather Gibbens
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 2018 in American Sign Language Interpreting. Shortly after beginning my career in interpreting, I was given an opportunity to become a teacher and I took it! I have been teaching since 2020. I have worked as a Behavioral Interventionist, taught in Special Education and also in an online setting.
I am married and together we have seven children and three dogs. We love Disney Cruises and Mario Party game nights. It is never a dull moment in our home and I could not ask for anything different. I hope to make great memories at Van Buren!

Alicia Strand
Mrs. Strand has taught in Caldwell since
2008. On weekends you will find her spending time
with family camping or riding her ATV
in the mountains. Her favorite thing about being a
teacher is seeing her students’ growth academically,
emotionally and socially throughout the year.

Amy Gonzalez
I started teaching in 2002, took a couple of years off to have babies, and then started at Van Buren in 2006. My sweet husband and I married in 1998 and have 3 children who have grown into hardworking, fun adults. We also have 2 dogs who are our hearts' delight! I have a passion for reading, crafting, going for (easy) hikes, going to concerts, and being with my family. I enjoy traveling, but I relish being at home. Though I have only taught first grade, no two years have ever been the same. Each year has its own challenges and successes.
